Last night was the opening night of the St Aidan’s Music Festival. The opening night was an organ recital given by Ian Tracey, Organist Titular at Liverpool Cathedral.
The recital was a mixture of pieces spanning several hundred years from the pure tones of Johann Pachelbel to the improvisations of Carlo Curley.
The organ at St Aidan’s is an Eminent DCS 400 installed in March 2007. Ian Tracey said he was “delighted to be asked to open the music festival and to be able to play this fine Eminent installation”.
